Project: Welly Exchange
Brief:
As part of their presence at some of the United Kingdom's largest music festivals, shoe retailer Schuh wanted to provide a recycling initiative to help both festival revellers and those less fortunate. The concept was the 'Schuh Welly Exchange'. Festival-goers could swap their footwear for more suitable welly boots, free of charge, and the unwanted footwear will then be collected by the European Recycling Company who will send them on to the third world, where the shoes are locally refurbished and sold on, thus creating a much needed local industry.
Results:
Schuh approached Baconinflate to employ the use of a 6m EventStation® for the Welly Exchange. The EventStation® featured a fully-printed canopy and curtains, and was appended by two e:Pods used for storage.
But Baconinflate's involvement in the Welly Exchange extends way beyond supplying a structure, we also provided the full activation of the event, including provision of promotional staff, transportation between each festival and storage of over 3000 pairs of wellies!
